Ukraine intends to file new claims against Russia to the ECHR


The Ukrainian authorities are preparing to file new lawsuits to the European court of human rights (ECHR). This was stated in interview to the edition “Today”, the Deputy Minister of justice Natalia Sevostyanova, noting that, “unfortunately, the situation is not improving and continues the violation of human rights”.

Sevostyanova said that in the ECHR are already four lawsuits against Russia. They cover issues from March 2014 and relate to the Donbass, Crimea and remaining on the Peninsula are Ukrainian property.

“This is a violation of human rights, the right to life, rights of the Crimean Tatar people and so on. And there is even some mention of MH17,” – said Sevostyanova, describing processes on these claims “long-term, but promising.
