Germany confirmed the development of new anti-Russian sanctions

The head of the Bundestag Committee on foreign Affairs Norbert röttgen confirmed that Germany was considering widenin new anti-Russian sanctions in connection with the situation in Syria.

Röttgen sure that the fighting involving Russian military in Aleppo, Syria should be called “war crimes”. “Effects and lack of response to war crimes will cause a scandal”, — reports the German media to the Deputy.

In his opinion, in the long term, the new sanctions could affect Moscow’s policy in the middle East, but in Russia they have no impact. In this case, Robert Röttgen criticized the EU for what the countries of the Union are afraid to impose new restrictions against Russia and refuse to “call a spade a spade”.

An earlier edition of the Wall Street Journal, citing its own sources reported that the German government agencies are discussing new sanctions against Russia because of the situation in Syria. Thus Germany can take the initiative of introduction of new sanctions in the framework of the European Union.
