The initiative on restrictions in response to Russia’s policy in the Syrian region has put forward the Christian democratic Union Merkel. The Commissioner of the German government for German-Russian intersocietal cooperation Gernot Erler said that the first reflections on the subject of sanctions is already there. However, he believes that “the policy of sanctions in the form in which it took place in the Ukrainian conflict, is not encouraging to again to use this tool,” reports the website of TV channel ZDFheute.de RIA Novosti.
At the same time, during a press conference on Wednesday the official representative of the German foreign Ministry on the issue of sanctions, said: “At the moment I don’t know anyone — neither in Berlin, nor anywhere else — who had it”.
