Ukrainian monopolists demanded to collect with “Gazprom” of $3.3 billion fine


In Kyiv Economic court received a claim from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) demanding forced to recover from “Gazprom” a penalty of $ 3.3 billion (or 86 billion hryvnia). AMC previously fined “Gazprom” for “abuse of monopoly” in gas transit through the gas transportation system of the country. According to the antitrust agencies, this has led to infringement of interests of “Naftogaz”.

“Gazprom” tried to challenge the decision of the AMC in the Ukrainian courts, however, overturn the decision failed.
