The short list of “Russian Booker” was an unexpected name

The first non-governmental literary prize for best novel of the year – “Russian Booker” has announced a short list. An unexpected name in it is still there. So the prize, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, true to itself – no surprises no cost.

The balance among the finalists: “the Fortress” Peter Aleshkovsky, “Men of August” Sergei Lebedev “And they have no retribution,” Alexander Melikhov, “the adoration of the Magi” Suhbat of Aflatuni “Soft fabric: Batiste. Cloth” Boris Minaev and “Winter road” by Leonid Yuzefovich (the last three works were in the short list of “Yasnaya Polyana”).

The Deputy head of Rospechat Vladimir Grigoriev congratulates writers:

– “Russian Booker” announces the finalists and he manages to cover authors who have not been on other awards. It’s nice that along with the venerable old-timers of long and short sheets selected the new names. For me was only unexpected Evgeniy Abdullaev (alias Suhbat of Aflatoun – “MK”.), but it’s absolutely true. The Yuzefovich and Aleshkovsky really discussing things. Minaev and so warmed by literary recognition. I hope someone of the finalists will give us a new literary hero. As for the winner, he, as always, unpredictable.

Call him on 1 December.
