The government of Canada to impose a tax on carbon dioxide emissions


The canadian authorities intend to introduce a tax on carbon dioxide emissions by 2018. The statement was met with the energy-rich regions of the country has caused the sharp protest.

The cost of carbon dioxide emissions will be 10 canadian dollars per ton in 2018 per ton, and by 2022 will increase by 5 times – up to $ 50.

As reported, canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, with 10 canadian provinces can choose to enter if they tax carbon dioxide emissions, or a scheme of quotas and trade. All final decisions will have to meet Federal targets for emissions.
