Repository for spent nuclear fuel will be built in the United States


In the U.S. state of Idaho plans to build a repository for spent nuclear fuel from warships and submarines. This decision was made, the US Navy together with the Ministry of energy of the country.

According to the Associated Press, the cost of construction on a plot area of 2300 square kilometres will be 1.6 billion dollars. The vault will be built near the Idaho national laboratory – one of the main objects of research in the field of nuclear energy in the United States.
