Kudrin told how they worked with Putin in the mayor’s office of St. Petersburg


Ex-Finance Minister, head of the Council of “Center for strategic research” Alexei Kudrin told how in 1990-e years together with the future Russian President Vladimir Putin worked in the mayor of St. Petersburg Anatoly Sobchak. According to him, they all worked first of all over to put the city “on the market economy.”

“We just plowed real, then we were keen to bring the city in as work perfectly in a modern market system,” said Kudrin at the business forum of Atlanta.

According to him, St. Petersburg was one of the first, the pace of privatization, which allowed him to survive the crisis a little easier.

“It was very important that we all lived with the expectation that we’ll be able to create a country one of the most advanced,” said Kudrin.
