Ukrainian authorities are investigating how a soldier APU Maxim Shlyakhova serving on the border, appeared on the territory of Russia. According to Russian security officials, the warrior crossed the border out of the checkpoint and did not have the documents. Now he faces at least administrative responsibility. “The media is sometimes used for information of special operations.“
Informed in FSB of the Russian Federation said that the Ukrainian soldier instituted administrative proceedings, the question on excitation of criminal case under article “Illegal crossing of the state border of the Russian Federation”, providing for up to two years of imprisonment.
Ukrainian military did not have the documents, which caused confusion from the representative of the Ukrainian General staff Vladislav Seleznev. “The Russians claim that he was allegedly without documents, but to put it mildly, nonsense. If he was undocumented, I could not cross the border from the Ukrainian side, our guards would not have missed it”, – quotes “UKRINFORM”.
At the same time, Russian security forces said that the soldier crossed the border outside border crossing point.
“Now all measures are taken to return it as soon as possible. The issue is likely to be associated with the administrative Protocol for illegally crossing the border,” – said Seleznev.
According to him, Shlyakhova served near the village of chalk on the border with Russia.
According to the expert of Association of military political scientists Alexander Berendeyev, crossing the border could be an attempt of infiltration of the agent, or, on the contrary, voluntary switching to the Russian side, but definitely talk about it now. “Now the media is sometimes used for information operations. I personally doubt that, if there really was a military and posed no threat, it would began to speak to a wide audience. There is a lot of any military at the checkpoints goes, former, and current, but typically it is not shared with the media,” he said in an interview with the newspaper LOOK.
