President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on cooperation with the International monetary Fund (IMF) stated that the conditions for obtaining cheap loans this organization is unacceptable to the country.
“Yes, I want to get three billion of cheap credit. I’m in. But the price is completely unaffordable for us and unfair to people,” he said, stressing that the adoption of the IMF conditions will negate all previous efforts of the authorities.
According to BelTA, Lukashenko said that, in his opinion, the IMF did not want “to strangle” Belarus, however, the requirements are actually reduced to this. As an example, he cited the increase in tariffs and the refusal to increase salaries. “The poor, the people of Belarus we do not have the right”, – said the head of state.
