Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during talks with the Russian authorities do not discuss the topic of Crimea and its joining the Russian Federation. The head of the Japanese government explained why Tokyo joined anti-Russian sanctions.
During the parliamentary hearings, Abe said that Tokyo calls on Moscow and Kiev to adhere to the implementation of the Minsk agreements, reports RIA Novosti.
“As for the question of the Northern territories (so in Japan called the Southern Kuril Islands — approx. ed), we are in talks and are negotiating the conclusion of a peace Treaty. And in these negotiations, of course, we do not discuss the Crimea”, – said the head of the Japanese government.
According to him, from the point of view of the unity of state territory and sovereignty of the Crimea to structure of Russia is changing status quo by military force, which forced Japan to join the sanctions.
As for the issue of the Kuril Islands, Japan continues to insist on the return of all four Islands, after which Tokyo is ready to sign a peace Treaty with Moscow by the end of the Second world war.
Earlier it was reported that Tokyo will arrange option, in which Japan will be transferred to two of the smallest Islands of the ridge, and the question of affiliation of the remaining two will reportedly be discussed after the conclusion of a peace Treaty. However, the Japanese authorities denied the allegation.
