Lavrov, Kerry expressed readiness to continue dialogue on normalization in Aleppo


The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held telephone talks with U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry, which took place at the initiative of the American side.

According to the report on the website of the foreign Ministry, the sides discussed the situation in Syria. In particular, Lavrov stressed that Russia remains open to dialogue with the United States on all issues of the Syrian settlement, including to consider the possibility of joint efforts to normalize the situation in Aleppo.

Lavrov also raised the issue of the necessity of ending the sabotage of the Syrian opposition, the UN security Council’s decisions on holding inter-Syrian talks without preconditions.
