A group of Swedish scientists from the University in linköping, considered the roots of the friendly relations between the people and the dog from the point of view of genetics. As a result, they were able to detect five genes that, in all probability, played a significant role in the transformation of some of the oldest wolves in the first domestic dogs.
In the experiment, conducted by experts, were used 437 beagles — medium sized dogs with long ears, a good sense of smell used for hunting rabbits and hares, and when searching for explosives. All animals were grown in the laboratory.
