The attacker sprayed red paint work of the winners of the “Direct gaze” Alexander Vasyukovich and Sergei L. Loiko, reported on the website of the Sakharov centre on the social network Facebook.
The organizers of the event said that they will not recover the photos on the war in Ukraine, to ensure their safety and the safety of visitors.
“War is, first and foremost, sorrow, suffering, and death. Photography gives you the opportunity to see it. But in society there are people who are so poisoned by hatred that the public conversation about the tragedy of war becomes impossible”, – stated in the message of the cultural center.
Later the TV channel “Ren TV” has published a video of the incident, and called the name of the person who was outraged by images of Ukrainian nationalists – he was the candidate of philosophical Sciences, the artist Anton Belikov. The footage shows how he destroys the photographs of soldiers of the battalion “Donbass”, shouting that they were involved in the murders of women and children.
Present the Belarusian photographer Alyaksandr Vasyukovich enraged, the young man called “smiling bastard” and “shy fascist.” “I hate you, despise,” said he, turning to the Vasyukovich. Arriving police officers tried to detain the brawler, but he managed to escape.
