Obama’s disregard for Congress, his veto: it is “a dangerous precedent”


The US President commented on the decision of the Congress to ignore his veto and still pass a law that allows the relatives of those killed in the attacks of September 11, 2001, to submit claims to Saudi Arabia.

“The United States suddenly found itself exposed to liability for everything they do around the world. Turned out to be the subjects of private action in the courts, where it is often not clear what are the consequences… I wasn’t expecting it, this is a very dangerous precedent,” Obama said.
