The Pentagon: the U.S. nuclear threat is just Russia and the DPRK

Only Russia and North Korea pose a nuclear threat to the United States, said the Pentagon chief Ashton Carter.

He questioned Russia’s commitment to “compliance with long-established rules of use of nuclear weapons and the respect for it is the great care with which the leaders of the cold war era came to the use of nuclear weapons”.

Carter also said the U.S. is working with NATO allies in order “to keep Russia going to use nuclear weapons in a conflict with NATO.”

The Pentagon opposed Russia and the DPRK, China and India, which, according to him, “behave responsibly and professionally” in the nuclear field.
