Churkin: Russia will not agree to unilateral steps on Syria

Permanent representative of Russia to the UN Vitaly Churkin, speaking at an emergency meeting of the security Council of the organization expressed dissatisfaction with the U.S. position in the negotiation process on Syria.

“At first I said for three days. We agreed. Then said, “No, the US President changed his mind, you have 7 days,” he said about the position of Washington at the time of the ceasefire in Syria, calling the behavior of Americans “tactical tricks”.

Russia will not agree to unilateral steps to resolve the Syrian conflict, said Churkin. Previously, he called the return Syria to peace virtually impossible.
