New Russian combat aircraft will be equipped with a laser to destroy enemy targets


Russia continues development of a combat aircraft A-60, which can use high-precision laser to destroy enemy targets. This was reported by Advisor to the Deputy CEO of the Concern “Radioelectronic technologies” Vladimir Mikheev.

According to him, the navigation system of the aircraft will be precise, to narrow the laser beams hit the object. Mikheyev noted that because of the power of the new weapon from its impact will have to protect the aircraft carrier. The specialist added that the aircraft will be equipped with powerful airborne defense, including protection against radio-electronic influence of the enemy.

The development of the flying laser was carried out in Soviet times. The first A-60 were tested in the 1980-ies.
