The European Union said that it is not ready to recognize the results of elections of deputies of the lower house of Parliament, held in Russia on September 18. Among the claims of the EU – concern about the lack of freedom of speech in Russia, as well as complete non-recognition of elections on the Crimean Peninsula.

Commenting on the results of the Duma elections in Russia, the official head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini referred to the text of the report presented the results of the Single voting day observers of observers of the Office for democratic institutions and human rights and the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe.
According to her, the elections were organized quite transparent, but the reasons for serious concerns still persist, the reason is “challenges for the democratic obligations.“
“The EU expects from the Kremlin that they will do their best to be attentive to the comments and recommendations of the Office for democratic institutions and human rights… we Call on the Russian authorities to take constructive steps to do this,” he said, Mogherini RIA Novosti.
“The authorities of the European Union do not recognize the conduct in the Crimea and Sevastopol elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, because it does not recognize the joining of Crimea and Sevastopol into the Russian Federation” – said the head of European diplomacy.
“MPs, trying to represent the interests of the Crimea and Sevastopol in the State Duma of the Russian Federation will be recognized as the representatives of these territories, as they are Ukrainian,” – said in the EU.
Its position is fully supportive of the U.S. government. So, the official representative of state Department of the United States, John Kirby, commenting on the results of the elections in Russia, also referred to the report of the international observers, advised the Russian authorities to “pull tails” in the implementation of the rights of citizens on free will, calling, among other features, “electoral shortcomings” restrictions on the nomination of candidates and overly complicated registration requirements for independent candidates.
We will remind, following the results of last September 18, Russian elections, after the processing of 99.42% of protocols of the State Duma of the seventh convocation will form the representatives of the four parties. This is the “United Russia” with result 54,18% of the vote, the Communist party from 13.35% interest, the liberal democratic party – from 13.16% and “Fair Russia” from 6.21% of the votes. Final results will be released by the CEC on Friday, September 23.
