According to Rosstat, in August 2016, the real incomes of Russians decreased by 8.3%. We mean the income after deduction of compulsory payments and adjusted for the consumer price index. It turns out that the rate of fall of people’s incomes reached record levels, because the comparison was taken August of 2015.

In January-August 2016 the real incomes decreased by 5.8% compared to the same period in 2015.

Rosstat also called and the amount of the average salary in the last month – 34 095 rubles. In August last year, the average salary was less than 5.8%. Thus wages are also not keeping up with inflation. So if we talk about real terms, wages have not risen, but fell by 1%.
