Putin awarded President of Kyrgyzstan Atambayev the order of Alexander Nevsky

Russian President Vladimir Putin in honor of the 60th anniversary of President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev awarded him the order of Alexander Nevsky “for the great contribution to strengthening the multifaceted cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan in a spirit of mutual trust and strategic partnership.”

The ceremony took place on Saturday during bilateral meetings in Bishkek. Putin noted that the European Union, “as a man who keeps at heart the memory of the best pages of our joint history,” this order — “the most suitable reward.
