In the United States advised Ilyumzhinov to ask Obama for pardon

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov announced at the press conference on Thursday that a representative of the U.S. government through a representative Ilyumzhinov advised him to appeal to Obama asking for clemency, reports “Interfax”.

Earlier it was reported that Ilyumzhinov wrote a letter to President Barack Obama, where he informed about the readiness to defend themselves in American courts, and to consider the option of U.S. citizenship, if necessary for such procedures.

Ilyumzhinov added that he does not understand why he should seek pardon, if “nothing was done and nothing to blame”.

We are talking about Ilyumzhinov inclusion in the sanctions list of the U.S. Treasury, with which he strongly disagrees and requires the Department of compensation.
