The USA extended for one year embargo on trade with Cuba

US President Barack Obama for another year extended the trade embargo against Cuba. In a letter to the Secretary of state and the Minister of Finance, he notes that, from his point of view, such a step would meet the national interests of the United States.

USA and Cuba announced a gradual normalization of relations in late 2014. In March 2016 with the historic visit to Cuba came Barack Obama. 31 Aug flew to Cuba first since 1961 commercial flight.

However, the trade embargo on Cuba by the US continues for over 50 years. Cuban foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez had earlier estimated the damage from the trade embargo for the period from April 2015 to March 2016 at $ 4.6 billion.
