The President of Ukraine filed a lawsuit against Russia over the Crimea


President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Wednesday instructed the foreign Ministry of Ukraine to initiate arbitration proceedings against Russia’s violation of the UN Convention on the law of the sea. Kiev believes that the accession of Crimea to Russia had violated the rights of Ukraine in the Black and Azov seas. These rights are stipulated by the international acts.

In turn, the Ukrainian foreign Ministry has reported that have already initiated such production and on September 14 issued notice to the Ministry of foreign Affairs.

During the arbitration, the invited experts will have to assess the amount of damage Ukraine.
