The transfer of “Eurovision” from Ukraine to Russia in the EMU called “nonsense”

Suddenly appeared in the Russian information field “news” that “Eurovision”, “exhausted” by the long discussions in Ukraine about the choice of city and venue for the next Eurovision song contest in 2017, is about to burst patience, and the right the event will be broadcast, “according to the regulations, or Australia, or Russia (who finished respectively 2nd and 3rd places at the competition in Stockholm in may 2016), has been named a source close to the leadership of the European Broadcasting Union “gossip, rumors and complete nonsense”.

Jamal — the winner of “Eurovision 2016”.

“Do not listen to crazy people,” said our source. The conversation was absolutely private, so the vocabulary was more “domestic” than the official, however, did not cancel the content of the conversation.

Special bewilderment caused to the press service of the EMU, allegedly declared about a possible transfer of the contest to Russia for the next year. “Such a Declaration could not be, by definition, the source said, on the Contrary, the EMU is very interested in the complete opposite – that Russia, as a major, influential and always creative (in the context of competition), the country should take part in Eurovision next year, and we believe that in any case it should pass in Ukraine.”

The only named source in the “sensational duck” on the transfer of the contest turned out to be Zurab Alasania, Director General of the National television company of Ukraine, which only spoke about the difficulties in choosing the city, the lack of infrastructure and financial problems, and that in October there will come a “deadline” (the date when it is necessary to define the management of the EMU, allegedly, must burst the patience). Mr. Alasania also distinguished himself during the previous contest in Stockholm with the statement that, “if you win a man named Lazarev, Ukraine will refuse from participation in the next contest.

“Yes, there are a lot of difficulties (and funding, and with the shaven area, and with other aspects), – told “MK” a source in the EMU, but Ukraine as a country-winner, certainly deserves this event, will pull to the last, so no one now seriously not even discussing the issue of migration”.

However, in the history of the contest such precedents took place. For various reasons (often financial properties) from the competition refused Netherlands (1960), Monaco (1972), Luxembourg (1974), Israel (1980). As a rule, the management then transferred the event to the UK as one of the founding members of the so-called “big five”. In may in Stockholm, discussed the probability of winning singer DAMI Im from Australia, distant and inaccessible for the European competition, the most likely place it was called the United Kingdom.

“If Ukraine itself expressed the desire to withdraw from the competition, then gather reference group, and we will solve it. Either Ukraine delegates the right to contest any of the “big five” or the right will go to Australia, who took second place, and actually again, some of the “big five”, the UK or Germany, for example. Russia in this design does not appear” – said our source.
