Putin has appointed a children’s Ombudsman, the mother of six children Anna Kuznetsov

President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on dismissal of Pavel Astakhov from office of the Commissioner for children’s rights in Russia. In this post it will replace the head of the Executive Committee of the popular front in Penza, a mother Anna Kuznetsova.

In a press-service of the Kremlin said that Pavel Astakhov, who held the post of Ombudsman for children since 2009, resigned at his own request, reports TASS.

It will be replaced by the head of the Association of organizations in the protection of the family, the founder of children’s charity Fund “Pokrov, head of the Penza regional Executive Committee of the popular front of Anna Kuznetsova. As reported on the website of the Foundation, Kuznetsova six children — two daughters and four sons. President Vladimir Putin has held a meeting with the new children’s Ombudsman in the Kremlin.

The press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov on the eve recalled that the Commissioner for children’s rights was going to leave his post after returning from vacation. While the media in July wrote that the children’s Ombudsman resigns after his birthday – September 8 Pavel Astakhov turned 50 years old.

Rumors about the possible dismissal of the children’s Ombudsman went a long time. Close to the Kremlin sources RBC reported that the authorities have accumulated a lot of claims to Astakhov. In particular, the official recalled his controversial statements about the “shrivelled at the age of 27 Caucasian women, as well as incorrect statements while interacting with children in Karelia, the Ombudsman asked the girls, survivors of the storm: “Well, how was your swim?”).

In addition, the Ombudsman arose and antikorruptsionnye claim. In 2014, Astakhov announced the collection of funds for refugee children to the account in a Regional Bank, 8.5% of its shares previously purchased by his son.

Pavel Astakhov is holding the post of the Ombudsman for children since 2009. He is known as one of the lobbyists of the so-called “law of Dima Yakovlev”, prohibiting foreign adoptions of Russian children.
