US sanctions against “Rosoboronexport” contract for the repair and maintenance of Mi-17, as it turned out, was abolished on 25 November last year. This was the Deputy General Director of concern Sergey Goreslavsky said on the sidelines of the international military-technical forum “Army-2016”.

Goreslavsky noted that the restrictive measures are suspended for two years, but “if necessary,” this term could be extended.

The US and its allies are using in Afghanistan several dozen Mi-17 helicopters, which are export versions of the Mi-8, said RIA Novosti.

Recall that on 2 September last year, the United States imposed sanctions against five Russian companies suspected of violating American law on non-proliferation in respect of Iran, North Korea and Syria.

In addition to the “Rosoboronexport”, in the “black list” were JSC “instrument Design Bureau” company “Cathode” Corporation “NPO Mashinostroyenia” and aircraft Corporation “MiG”.
