Another company IKEA, which since 2000 has managed to visit more than 170 million people, was launched in our country. Under the Great Novgorod has opened their new factory. The company promises not to stop there.

7 September in the village of podberez by the Great Novgorod inaugurated the factory “IKEA industry Novgorod”. It consists of the existing plant for the production of particleboard (chipboard) and the newly launched factory, which manufactured frames for wardrobes and new kitchen system developed by the company.

The company “launched” a representative delegation. Came to the village the Governor of the Novgorod region Sergey Mitin, and from St. Petersburg – the Swedish Consul Erik hammarskjöld. Was attended by the heads of IKEA at all levels: for example, the CEO of a retail chain in Russia, Walter Kadnar, the head of “IKEA industry” Leif, Hultman, head of division on manufacture of case furniture Robert Santelli and others.

As recognized by the delegates, the new factory, which started to build in 2014, today is the largest Russian investment company in production. Just trade in Novgorod has invested 100 million euros. When at full capacity, which is scheduled for 2020, the company plans to produce 7 million units annually.

The factory, which has worked in Novgorod, too, should not ignore. Because now she is the only supplier of particle Board and chipboard for furniture, which is sold in 11 regions of Russia. In General, this company is known worldwide. His plate buying customers in former CIS countries, and in China, India, Israel, Italy and South America.

Interestingly, the plant was purchased by IKEA in 2013, the company Pfleiderer, which was then folded its business in Russia. But in IKEA, by contrast, saw “a great potential for development of furniture industry”. At the moment, according to the company’s employees produced 500 thousand m3 of chipboard and 40 million m2 of laminated particleboard.

As we now say in the company, opening offices in Novgorod – only part of a massive investment programme. She is going to invest in Russia over 100 billion rubles.

“Our plan is to continue to invest energy and funds in Russia and thus contribute to the development of its economy”, – said at the opening of the factory Walter Kadnar. “We remain interested in increasing its presence in the Russian market, which is strategically important for the company,” added Leif, Hultman.

Indeed, at the moment, the Swedish company is one of the largest foreign investors in the Russian economy. In 2013, she announced the intention to invest in Russia at least 100 billion roubles and sticks to its long-term plans. “Russia is a strategically important market for us,” – previously reported in the press service of IKEA, meaning that new economic realities are not forced to abandon the planned.

Only in our country, in addition to Novgorod there are four production complex of the company. As for “IKEA industry Novgorod”, its launch was a landmark event in the life of the region. Largely because the production has been created many new jobs on the complex employed more than 500 people.

“The company, despite all the difficulties in international relations, he built a factory in Novgorod region. This was only possible thanks to the trust company to all of us: to our country, to the President of Russia, Government of Novgorod region and people who are willing to work for the good of our society and our residents! The opening of the factory is new production, more jobs, additional revenues to the budget of the region. On behalf of the Government of the Novgorod region, I want to thank everyone who took the decision to create the factory who built it, who is going to work here. I am sure that our collaboration will benefit both the company and residents of the area and population of our two countries!” – said Sergey Mitin.

However, the development of the labour market contribution is not confined. At the opening of the factory separately said that the new company will contribute to import substitution. And this is true – no wonder the Russian government announced the replacement of imports with domestic products economic priority.

According to representatives of IKEA, today over 50% of the total volume of goods that are sold in the shops of the company across the country, produced in the Russian Federation.

Also, as usual in Western companies, special emphasis was placed on the environmental aspect. First, the actual proximity of the factory and of the factory and no need long time to take plates from the conveyor the conveyor has a positive impact on reducing выбросовСО2 into the atmosphere. Second, the company introduced advanced filtering technology, sewage and installed an electrostatic filter. The latter allows 90% increase in the efficiency of air cleaning from fine particles formed in the drying process of wood chips. All this keeps the air clean.

IKEA first appeared in our country a quarter century ago, in 1990, when opened in St. Petersburg its first procurement office. Ten years later the company built in Khimki its first retail store.
