The argument between the presidents of the United States and the Philippines: Obama decided not to meet with Duterte

The meeting between the leaders of the United States and the Philippines, scheduled for today, will not take place. It was canceled at the initiative of the American side after President Rodrigo Duterte called Barack Obama a “son of a bitch”. Philippine leader did not like criticisms of the White house the deaths of more than 2000 people initiated Duterte the fight against drug trafficking.

We will remind, the presidents exchanged “studs” on the sidelines of the G20 summit in China. In response to Obama’s statements about mass casualties in the fight against crime in the Philippines, Duterte demanded that he respect and advised not to interfere in the internal Affairs of his country, and at the same time called “son of a bitch”.

“It is not necessary to throw away statement, you son of a bitch,” he said, promising to curse the US President on the ASEAN forum in Laos.

He also said that the Philippines is willing to withdraw from United Nations if the UN experts will continue to criticize him for the fight against drug trafficking.

In response to this statement, the U.S. side apparently decided not to risk it (and what really curse?) and he canceled a planned 6 September meeting of Obama and Duterte. Relevant information was published in the national security Council during the administration of the United States.

“The meeting of Barack Obama with the President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte scheduled for the afternoon of September 6, is cancelled. Instead, the U.S. President will meet with President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-Hye,” said the representative of the national security Council, Ned Price, the words quoted by AFP.
