This point of view Putin said in response to a question from Bloomberg, comparing the head of gas monopoly of Alexey Miller with the General, who lost 80% of his army.

Recall that the capitalization of Gazprom fell only for 2015 by 20%. In 2008 the company was worth 369 billion dollars, by the start of 2016, its estimated only at 44.3 billion.

At the same time in 2008, Alexei Miller stated that 7-8 years “Gazprom” will become the world’s largest company and its market capitalization will reach a trillion dollars.

According to Putin, the fall in the value of the monopoly there is nothing to worry. Responding to the Bloomberg analogy with the General, the President noted that he just moved his army in reserves, which can demand at any time.

The President added that the alternative gas fuel in the world is still there, and Russia has the highest reserves.

Note that in 2015 amid unprofitable activities of the company headed by him (397 billion rubles only in the fourth quarter), Miller was the highest-paid top Manager in Russia according to Forbes, having received as remuneration $ 27 million.
