In the finals of the new banknotes hit the Trinity-Sergius Lavra

In ten cities-finalists who have the chance to decorate their architectural beauties of the denominations of 200 and 2,000 rubles, came in Sergiev Posad near Moscow. Leaving behind Zaraysk, Klin and Kolomna — a city that broke him in the second round, but failed to go further, Sergiyev Posad has risen in one number with Vladimir, Volgograd, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, Sevastopol and Sochi. Competition, let’s face it, high, but hope to see on a fresh bill of the dome of the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra, not so small. This assured “MK” experts who know a lot about money.

Recall that the national campaign for choosing an image launched on June 28. In the second stage of screening was attended by 76 characters of the 49 cities. Fund “Public opinion” has interviewed 6,000 respondents throughout Russia. Well, since September 5 starts the final stage of selection. Results will be announced on 7 October.

So someone who, as a former culture Minister MO Oleg Rozhnov believes in the victory of Sergiev Posad:

Former Zagorsk is the object of UNESCO world heritage, — he told “MK”. His importance in the history of our country cannot be overemphasized, it is the spiritual symbol, the monastery, founded by one of the most revered Russian saints, the gatherer of Russian lands.

Editor of “Cultural studies” Andrew Karpov fully agree with Rozhnov:

— Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra is not just an ancient monument and a tourist center, but also a symbol of unification of Russian lands, the history of the Shrine and the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh are strongly associated with the liberation of Russia from the Mongol yoke and the beginning of the revival of the country.

— I think the former Zagorsk can avoid even such large cities as Sevastopol and Sochi, — shared his opinion editor in chief of the journal “Balistica” Alexander Baranov. Just to be on the commemorative hundred-ruble note is already present and the Fisht stadium, and the Sevastopol Bay. And yet we can not exclude the recurrence of the situation which arose in the selection of the Olympic symbols. When in the last stage there were 5 finalists, all five decided to include in the celebration. Perhaps the bills something like this happens. The two cities will decorate denominations of 200 and 2,000 rubles, and when followed by the re-design of all existing currency, (the General Director of Goznak Arkady Trachuk promised that this will happen by 2020), the rest of the city too falls on the banknote. And why not?

Experts believe that radical changes — for example, changes in the size of the new banknotes — is not worth waiting, because then I would have had to modify all the existing ATMs (the cost of retrofitting them would lie on the shoulders of commercial banks). It is also known that the new money will remain paper — combine plastic with cotton, as did, for example, in Switzerland, Russian specialists do not want, as for the experimental material has not yet created a complete list of remedies. And what will be the color palette of new money?

— If we will be a denomination of the Russian currency, we will be able to return to the colour traditions of the Soviet era — said Baranov. — If you remember, the ruble was then yellow, green threefold, fives are blue, tens are red and purple quarters.

As for security features, in addition to the classic set (watermarks, laser perforation, diving belt) experts want to use fundamentally new developments that have not yet been applied. In particular, they promise “an interesting experiment” thread. Because the new notes should become almost the most popular in the country, and therefore their level of protection will be the highest.
