Thursday, 1 September, the representative of the national security Council the White house, Ned Price, said that Libya was removed a large amount of substances used in the manufacture of chemical weapons.

“Today we mark an important achievement in efforts to halt the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction — the last steps of international efforts to export from Libya, and the destruction of almost 500 metric tons of precursors for chemical weapons,” — he stressed.

The White house spokesman added that the matter was taken at the request of the government of national accord in Libya.

“The dual-use chemicals exported from Libya in recent days, it was the remains of the Arsenal of chemical weapons, which has developed the regime of Muammar Gaddafi,” said Price.
