The two leaders are expected to meet in the framework of the second Eastern economic forum (WEF) in Vladivostok. Previously, the government of Japan was ready to guarantee the Russians living in the Kuril Islands, respect for human rights and property in case of transfer of the Islands of Tokyo.

According to the newspaper Mainichi, the recognition by Japan of the right of Russians to live on the Kuril Islands should intensify negotiations on the territorial dispute.

Earlier it became known that on behalf of Abe at the Japanese Cabinet will have a new Minister who will be responsible for the development of cooperation with Russia.

Note that because of Japan’s claims to the Kuril Islands the country has still not signed a peace Treaty at the end of the Second world war. At the end of may this year, Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow does not intend to beg Tokyo the agreement.

Recently it was reported that Japan had decided to provide economic assistance to the Far East regardless of whether to allow the territorial dispute with Moscow.
