Uzbekistan could, but has not asked Russia to help treat Karimov


Vice-Premier of Russia Olga Golodets said that official Tashkent has addressed for the help to the Russian authorities to provide medical assistance to the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. At the same time between the two countries is an agreement under which Russia could help the patients of a neighboring state.

“We always provide assistance, if you come to us, about the complex technological operations, which are not in any territory of a neighboring state. But such a formal treatment, we were not” – said Golodets on Wednesday while talking to journalists, reports “Interfax”.

We will remind, some days ago, Uzbek state television reported on the hospitalization of the victim. However, some media reported that the President had died. According to others, he suffered clinical death.Official authorities remain silent.

In turn, Karimov’s youngest daughter Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva said that her father had a stroke, and expressed the hope that it will get better.
