CEC will not remove candidates for false information about income

False information about the income, property or education are not a cause for suspension from participation in the presidential race. This was stated by the head of the Central election Commission, Ella Pamfilova. Earlier it was reported that the Central election Commission deliberately did not publish the data about errors in the accounts of candidates in deputies of the state Duma, in order to “not hurt people”.

The CEC will not be deleted from the electoral list of those candidates who indicated false data on income, property, Bank accounts and education, said Ella Pamfilova.

The heads of the CEC reminded that by law the grounds for refusal of registration or withdrawal from the election is the candidate hiding criminal record, committing a serious crime, the imposition of administrative sanctions for “extremist” articles, having a second citizenship and offshore accounts.

Thus, all other biographies of the candidates are not a cause for suspension from participation in the elections. “Everything else is up to the voters and candidates. If the candidates see that the situation is somewhat different, they can challenge,” Pamfilova was quoted by TASS.

Earlier the newspaper “Kommersant” reported that the Central election Commission deliberately did not publish information about what the discrepancies were discovered in the Bank accounts of the candidates after verification with the Central Bank.

This year the regulator has requested information about the accounts of several thousand candidates have 800 credit institutions. However, financial institutions are not always answered in accordance with the electoral legislation: they had to produce a certificate on June 1, “but the information on the accounts was granted on June 1, and later.”

“We decided not to traumatize people so many false data”, — said a source in the electoral system. Meanwhile, the Central Bank publication said that they did not have information about any complaints to the CEC regarding the quality of the data.

Candidates the lack of transparency on the part of banking accounts is not concerned, the newspaper notes. The discrepancy of the Declaration with the reality of elections is not removed. But voters will be able to know what hid or forgot to show before the elections to the state Duma a candidate.
