Smoking electronic cigarettes is not as healthy as claimed. Anyway, for the heart they are only slightly less harmful than conventional tobacco, says a group of scientists from Greece. A new study conducted by experts showed that e-cigarettes cause harm to the cardiovascular system in the short term, and probably in the long run.
The study involved 24 men and women aged about 30 years, no history of health problems. One of the volunteers was asked to smoke a conventional cigarette for five minutes, others an electronic cigarette for half an hour. Experts say that on average people who prefer electronic cigarettes a regular, spend much more time on Smoking, and this difference was taken into account in the course of the experiment.
As it turned out, electronic and conventional cigarettes had about the same effect on the body of the participants: they increased blood pressure and increased rigidity one of the most important blood vessels — the aorta. Although the experiments were revealed only “immediate” effects, and for more far-reaching conclusions will require new experiments, experts say that their conclusions are forced to reconsider look at electronic cigarettes as being safe for health.
Earlier, another group of scientists from the University of southern California in Los Angeles also criticized the electronic cigarettes, putting on a slightly different drawback: as shown by the research of American experts, before the advent of electronic cigarettes the number of young smokers fell because teenagers and young people do not want to harm your health. Subsequently, however, the trend has changed, and experts tend to write it off as an exaggerated idea about electronic cigarettes as harmless replacement to the conventional cigarettes.
Original electronic steam generators emerged as an alternative to cigarettes, designed to help smokers gradually give up the habit. But then smokers who are new device had in mind, created around him a kind of subculture of “vapers”, after which the Smoking of electronic cigarettes in some circles “came into fashion”.
