Scientists have done an experiment simulating conditions on Mars, held in the U.S. state of Hawaii. The study lasted throughout the year.
Experiment HI-SEAS was conducted by scientists of the University of Hawaii in cooperation with NASA. Six American, French and German volunteers during the year were living in an isolated dome-shaped complex built on the slope of the dormant volcano, Mauna Loa.
Members of the Mars team” returned to civilization a year later, after isolation in a dome in Hawaii,” reads a message posted on the page of the HI-SEAS in a network of microblogs Twitter.
