The foreign Ministry commented on the attack by thugs on Rossotrudnichestvo in Kiev

The Russian foreign Ministry has called “orchestrated” the attack occurred in the night of Saturday in Kiev at the Russian centre of science and culture (Rossotrudnichestvo). In the official comments of the representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that the building suffered significant material damage.

As reported earlier, MKRU, unknown young men approached the building at night, detonated smoke bombs and painted the walls with nationalist slogans. The Ukrainian police arrived only half an hour later and nobody was detained. This is the fourth attack on the building of Rossotrudnichestvo.

As stated in the official statement on the website of the foreign Ministry, the action was attended by ultra-nationalist radicals.

Moscow believes that the “action” was well planned and was another manifestation of gaining momentum in Ukraine Russophobic hysteria.

In the commentary foreign Ministry expressed bewilderment by inactivity of the Ukrainian police. The report notes that even before the representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo discussed with the leadership of Ukrainian law enforcement units of the security issues.

Moscow demanded from Kiev to strict observance of international obligations. The Russian foreign Ministry recalled that under the Vienna Convention, Ukraine is obliged to provide security is located in the country of the Russian diplomatic missions.

“The Ukrainian authorities must realize that appeasement of radicals and their illegal activities can lead to very severe consequences,” – said in a statement the Russian foreign Ministry.
