Interpol has rejected a request of Ukraine on the wanted list of heads of unrecognized republics of the Donbass Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Carpentry, as decided that they are engaged in military-political component.
“Interpol does not question the seriousness of the charges, but guided by the regulations and does not violate it,” he said.
Similar decisions the organization made in respect of current and former militia commanders: Arseniy Pavlov (Motorola) and former commandant of Gorlovka Igor Bezler (Demon) and former Minister of defence DND Igor strelkov.
The Ukrainian authorities have appealed to Interpol with the requirement to declare the wanted list Zakharchenko and Carpentry at the end of 2014. Earlier, the Prosecutor-General’s office announced the LC and the DNI terrorist organizations.
It is noteworthy that in January last year, the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) refused to consider Lugansk and Donetsk Republic “terrorists supported by the Russian Federation”.
