The government has imposed new restrictions on exports to Russia of foreign food. Now in state and municipal procurement of various provisions will not be eligible foreign manufacturers, if they do not belong to the EEC and in that case, if the auction has already submitted two bids from manufacturers from Russia and countries of the Eurasian economic Union.

The decision of the government emphasizes that it does not apply to commercial purchases and will not affect the supply of goods in shops and restaurants.
However, as explained in the document, such a measure will contribute to the development of the national economy and the economies of the Union: “the foods listed are produced in Russia and the EAEU member States in sufficient volumes,” reads the paper. The Cabinet adds that the new restrictions “will contribute to the development of food production in Russia and the EAEU member-States”.

Under the new restrictions were “processed and preserved fish, caviar and caviar substitutes, crustaceans and shellfish, beef, veal, pork, poultry meat, edible offal, milk and dairy products, polished rice, sugar, salt and other products”.
Recall that in Russia until the end of 2017, prohibited the import of various foods from countries that supported sanctions against Russia: official goal of this measure is also stated to support domestic producers.
Also, with similar objectives, the government earlier adopted prohibiting the procurement of various medical supplies, particularly condoms. After clarification that the commercial networks they, nevertheless, remain, followed by new limitations — exclusion of sales of Durex condoms because until the end and not explained claims to their product range.
