Russian gas will become cheaper in Belarus by a third

The price of Russian gas for Belarus will decrease by a third as a result of the transition to settlements in rubles. Thus, the price of natural gas will be about $ 100 per thousand cubic meters.

Now Moscow and Minsk make all the calculations in dollars. The formation of gas prices in rubles for Belarus reduces the risks associated with the fluctuation of the dollar, writes “Kommersant”, citing sources.

In the formula of calculation in dollar terms, adopted today, takes into account the price of gas on Yamal, the cost of transportation to Byelorussia, storing and selling fuel in the local market.

In the case perekodan rubles Belarus to repay the debt to “Gazprom” and Russia will fully resume its previously frozen oil supplies to the country. Now the amount of indebtedness of Belarus for Russian gas for six months is approximately $ 300 million.

From 2017, the cost of gas for Belarus will be formed at the average price of the unified gas supply system of Russia multiplied by the multiplying factor. So, next year, the average price will be around $ 4050 rubles per thousand cubic meters. With the multiplying factor of 1.48 Minsk will buy fuel at the price of 6 thousand rubles per thousand cubic meters.

According to the plan, the cost of gas in Russia and Belarus will continue the convergence and catch up in 2025, when it should earn a common electric energy market of the two countries.
