Poroshenko: Putin wants to Annex Russia, all of Ukraine


The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed confidence that Russia wants to “invade” the whole of Ukraine, and not only its Eastern part.

The head of Ukraine said in an interview with CNN on the anniversary of Kiev gained its independence.

“Russia does not need the Donetsk and Lugansk — they want my whole country as part of the Russian Empire”, — said Poroshenko,adding that the only goal of the Kremlin is to achieve “less stable and secure world.”

The President of Ukraine has again accused the Russian authorities of provoking the conflict in the South-East of the country. Poroshenko said that 80% of all attacks on the Donbass in recent times was carried out by Russia and the armies of the breakaway republics, which is considered terrorist organizations in the West of the country, reports RIA Novosti.

Returning to the subject of independence of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko said that the struggle for freedom, democracy, sovereignty and territorial integrity and comes 25 years after independence (collapse of the USSR – MK), urged the United States “shoulder to shoulder with us to fight for global stability.”
