The state Department confirmed that the U.S. will protect its troops in Syria

State Department spokesman mark Toner told reporters Monday that the U.S. will protect its troops in Syria against possible threats, including air strikes. In fact, he reiterated the statement of the American General Stephen Townsend, who after the incident in al-Hasaka, where Syrian planes appeared in the sky over the location of American troops, warned Moscow and Damascus that the U.S. military will defend themselves if they feel threatened.

According to TASS, mark Toner said that in Syria there are US special forces, which train some local forces to fight terrorists and if these people will face the threat of air strikes, the United States will react accordingly.

The Toner confirmed that the planes of the Syrian air force struck dangerously close to American troops.
