Crimean authorities promised to sue Ukraine for “20 years of plunder”


Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Crimea Ruslan Balbec said that the regional authorities may make a counterclaim to Kiev for the damage caused to the Peninsula during his stay in the independent Ukraine.

Crimea has the right to demand from Ukraine compensation for a robbery carried out for two decades under the patronage of the Kiev authorities, said Balbec.

“Under the “patronage” of the Kiev authorities carried out a waste of Crimean land, real estate, collected, cleaned all the collected taxes, while in the infrastructure and economy of the region has not invested anything”, – quotes its RIA Novosti.

Before it became known that the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has promised to sue Russia in international arbitration, accusing Moscow in the assignment of Maritime space surrounding the Crimea.

The official representative of the foreign Ministry of Russia Maria Zakharova said that the Russian diplomats were negotiating with Ukraine in the framework of the UN Convention on the law of the sea, however, Kiev was not originally configured to a compromise and used the meeting to make a statement about the completion of the preliminary consultations with Russia.
