A third of Ukrainians declared Stalin a great leader

Interesting data cited by Ukrainian media on the results of a public opinion poll about the personality of Joseph Stalin. As it turned out, almost a third of citizens of Ukraine still considers him a “great leader”.

The survey, as reported by “Ukrainian news”, was held on the money of the Netherlands in the framework of МАТRА Fund “Democratic initiatives” name Ilka Kucheriv and the Kiev international Institute of sociology.

According to the findings, 15% of the population agrees with the statement that Stalin was a great leader and a 14.6% chose answer a point “rather agree”.

Also, almost a third of the population answered that they strongly disagree with this version is 27.9%. Another 9% of respondents chose softer language for their opposition to the outstanding role of Stalin.

In total, the survey involved more than 2 thousand people in different regions of the country except Crimea and the Lugansk and Donetsk regions controlled by the militias.

From 2006 year the number of supporters of Stalin in the Ukraine all-taki has decreased. Then it was called “great leader” 37% of the population Square. In 2011, supporters of Stalinism in the country was 35%.
