Ukrainian media found out the name of the Russian who asked for political asylum in Ukraine at the checkpoint “Novi yarylovychi”. Contrary to reports the website of state frontier service of Ukraine was not a famous writer, a 37-year-old activist Roman Roslovtsev, which, however, is also quite famous among the protest electorate in Russia. Previously, he repeatedly arranged in the center of Moscow, the mask of Putin, for which he received an appropriate nickname.
According to the site Hromadske.ua on Sunday August 21, said border guards in p/p “Novi yarylovychi” on the request for asylum to a Russian opposition activist Roman Roslovtsev.
He told the publication that in Russia no longer possible to continue the protest activities, so he decided to seek asylum. The activist also says that near his house there were FSB officers, so he left without personal belongings.
In Migration service of Ukraine Roman will leave on Monday 22 August with an official statement.
For opposition activities Roslavtseva was affected by the events on the Maidan in December 2013. When he first became involved in the actions in Moscow. On one of them at the Sofia embankment, he participated in the burning of effigies depicting the Russian President. Then he began to hold rallies in the mask Putin, for which he received the nickname “the Mask of Putin.”
Earlier MKRU reported on one such rally, which was held in April of this year in Moscow. Then Roslovtsev went to Red square in the mask with a poster “Not afraid 212.1” – it was a protest against the article of the criminal code, which punishes violation of the procedure of the meeting, procession or picket. Then Roslavtsev was arrested for the sixth time.
