The state Duma asked to punish citizens for non-information

Amendments to the criminal code, which impose penalties for failure to inform about the crime, unanimously approved by the parliamentarians of the Penza region. Now they have to consider the State Duma after she will meet with renewed composition after the elections on September 18.

The need to change Federal legislation, local MPs, as reported “the First of the Penza portal,” explained the Deputy head of the Investigative Committee for the Penza region Vladimir Fomin.

According to him, currently, many citizens do not report to law enforcement authorities about crimes in connection with the fear of being branded as “informers” or “selfish or immoral reasons.

To combat this the investigator suggested changes that should be made to article 316 of the criminal code “Concealment”.

As adds media, the amendments, among other things, suggesting the requirement of informing parents on each other in case of violence one of them.

The amendments were unanimously approved by the Parliament.

Recall that according to the so-called “Spring package” (his coauthors also Senator Viktor Ozerov, and deputies of the state Duma Natalia Gerasimova and Alexey Pushkov) in Russia have already been imposed liability for failure to inform about acts of terrorism.
