The monument to Mikhail Pugovkin opened in Yalta

A monument to one of the most popular actors of the Soviet cinema, Mikhail Pugovkin opened on the seafront of Yalta, the press service of the city administration.

Name Pugovkina Yalta for many decades been inextricably linked. In 2006, the great actor was awarded the title of Honorary citizen of Yalta. It is therefore not surprising that the Yalta citizens decided to memorialize the beloved actor, setting the monument. It is noteworthy that the opening of the monument to Mikhail Pugovkin was held in the year declared by the President of the Russian Federation the year of Russian cinema”, – stated in the message.

The monument was erected on the spot where the shooting took place the film “Ivan Vasilyevich changes profession.” Its authors are sculptor Constantin Zikeev and albert Aliyev.

The artist died in Moscow on 86 year of life 25 July 2008.
