Putin praised Ivanov before leaving the presidential Administration

On Friday afternoon, August 12, from the Kremlin came the unexpected news: Vladimir Putin dismissed Sergei Ivanov from the post of head of the presidential Administration, appointed in the place of his Deputy Anton Vaino. As the message of the Kremlin press service, Babysitting Ivanov from the post, where he worked for more than four years, was his personal initiative.

On the Kremlin website posted the transcript of the brief, according to the recording capacity, the meeting of Putin. His appeal to longtime associate he began with the words of appreciation.

“We have a lot of years working together, and do it successfully. I am pleased with how you perform tasks in assigned areas,” – said Putin. And then said that makes the decision on personnel shifts on the basis of personal requests of the action: “I Remember well about our agreement not to use you on this site more than four years.”

“I recently asked history – said Ivanov. – I was the 11th head of the Administration and to my surprise found that I’m a champion: I have worked in this position for 4 years 8 months.”

A career civil servant Sergei Ivanov will continue as special envoy of the President on matters of environmental protection, ecology (which he already is firmly engaged in the position of chief Manager of the presidential administration) and transportation. He has also maintained a place in the Security Council of Russia.

The new head of the Kremlin Administration appointed Deputy Ivanov Anton Vaino (his Deputy, in turn, appointed head of Protocol of President Vladimir Ostrovenko), which Putin wished no less efficiency than its predecessor. And also expressed the wish that the new chief of staff became the assistant to the head of the state and its contractors, for example, under the coordination of joint work with the government. But not only that.

“I hope that public organizations will feel in you as the head of the presidential Administration your reliable partner”, – said Putin. Vaino, whose candidacy as the successor recommended that Ivanov himself, thanked for the rendered trust.

Today Anton Vaino was part of the security Council, which also will start to work new members of the presidential envoys in the Siberian and northwestern Federal districts, Sergei Menyailo and Nikolai Tsukanov and Deputy security Council Secretary Rashid Nurgaliyev.
