— Sergey, tell us how it happened that you worked with actor Steven Seagal?

All know Steven as a good actor, but few know that he still plays the guitar and sometimes plays in Moscow. One time I worked with Steven and with Toto Cutugno, and with many famous musicians. And the thing was that I was interested and even surprised by the fact that I can sing in any voice for any song in any language.

— And how did you notice that you have such a unique voice that can adapt to the artist, the song is performed?

— I played with the cover band, we sang songs from different artists, and when I started to sing the song of group “Modern talking”, the band noticed that the room became silent: the audience thought we turned on the soundtrack. Realizing this, the guitarist was removed I had a MIC — the sound was gone, I was not heard and people realized that it was my voice, alive. That’s when I first realized that I get to sing so much like that can not be distinguished from the original. This was only the beginning — then I learned to copy other voices, including women’s, from ABBA to “Roxette”, male, from Joe Cocker to… “Hands up!” (laughs) Yes, any!

— Your repertoire is very broad: pop, rock, music for dancing, contemporary music and retro hits, you sing songs in Russian and in foreign languages… what is that?

— When I discovered that my voice can change and be like the voices of various people, I realized that I have no restrictions on the kind of music to perform. This is my peculiarity — a rare vocal range. And so at the concert I often ask the audience what song they want to hear and know that they can do what they want, and sing so that it is very similar to the original.

— What is your most vivid memory from your touring life?

— I’ll start with the background. At school I studied well, so good the boy was. And, of course, was secretly in love with the rowdy girl, a d student, treated her with candy, helped with homework, but I am not paying attention. Several years passed, I had another concert, and she, not knowing that the singer was her classmate, came to him and suddenly saw me… from the other side. Then came after the show, as if everything had to happen as in a fairy tale… but nothing we have not come out. It turns out that after years of reciprocity, I still achieved, even without candy, but the train was gone.

— Do you think your voice is a gift of fate or hard work?

— Probably, it is the result of a great love for the songs and the singers whose songs I perform. Subconsciously I get to sing as well as they are! And, of course, 5-7 hours of rehearsals every day for the rest of life.
